Although we
tend to take it for granted, glass surrounds us at work and at home.
From windows to architectural art, glass provides both form and function
in our lives. Glass can however, be the source of many problems.
Ordinary window glass can’t satisfy all the demands
we have today for safety and security, privacy, comfort, and visual
appearance. Winter heat loss through glass is an expensive waste
of energy. In the summer, solar heat and glare through glass cause
irritation, inefficiency, and increased air-conditioning costs.Sunshine
through ordinary glass leads to UV fading of color pigments in everything
from shop displays and furniture to works of art. Windows also allow
unwanted intrusion of privacy, whether by prying eyes or criminals.
In an attack by vandals or burglars, or in a damaging storm, window
glass is generally the weakest point.
So, from comfort, to safety, to financial savings,
there are many compelling reasons to tint the windows of your home
or office. |
